Suggest Treatment For Recurring Hard Ear Wax Buildup
sore blocked ear have ear wax that is not coming out been to gp (x2 different) 1st one advised to put on to CLEAR EAR WITH WAX to soften the wax & come bk in 4 days. could not flush out (water went thru to nasal passage) - keep putting ear drops in come back in 3 days. Could not get into same dr so went to different one who also could not get wax out but I told him could also feel water in nose when he was flushing and he stopped saying I may have a perforated eardrum and referred me to specialist which I cant get into until January 2015 This is driving me crazy and now have greenish discharge coming out of ear. HELP!!!!!
Hi, thanks for your query. hard wax will be softened using a wax softener drops but needs manual removal of wax under microscopic guidance by ent specialist. GP can't remove the wax. Greenish discharge suggets middle ear infection. When flushing the ear, if water comes to the nose then it suggests perforated ear drum which has got infected causing greenish discharge. Course of oral antibiotics to control infection will help you out. Consult ent specialist as early as possible. Thanks.
