Suggest Treatment For Recurring Lymph Node Infection
Hi, My partner has just finished some antibiotics for an infection on his lymph node (armpit). Originally It was quite big and red (from his armpit to his elbow) and he didn t have any colds or illnesses prior. The doctor we went to gave him some antibiotics but told him if it got worse to go to the hospital. That night after 3 tablets we went to the Hospital when the redness increased. After he was given IV treatment we got some more antibiotics and the redness reduced greatly. When he finished that round of antibitoics his armpit was still quite red, but isolated to a small patch. We went to the Dr. again and they gave him another round of antibiotics. He finished those last night. He still has a very small, slightly pink patch ~1.5cm diameter. My question is: Do you suggest we go back to the doctor for another round of antibiotics or should this go away on its own? Thanks
hi dear, since the antibiotic are effectively acting on the infection, I will advice you to take the whole course of it, once you have finish the treatment , visit your doctor again for follow up so that he can compare it from the last time.
