Hi Doctor.. I have been suffering from recurrent mouth ulcers. These ulcers start in a very small shape and gradually begins to grow bigger and bigger and then heal in about 10 days. I get these ulcers only when I have carbonated drinks like cold drinks or soda. Sometimes, when I have alcoholic drinks, then also i get these ulcers. These ulcers also happen if I take any mouth freshners. Else I never have ulcers... please suggest
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that the mouth ulcers are occurring in your case due to certain irritants present in soft drinks and alcohol as well mouth freshners and due to those irritants there is eruption of ulcers in mouth.. You should limit the intake of the things that are causing ulcer formation as well as when there is eruption of the ulcers you can gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine and take Ibuprofen for relieving pain.. Take multivitamin supplements.. Avoid spicy and sour foods.. Suck ice pops and do cold water rinses.. Gargle with 1:1 solution of milk of magnesia and benadryl solution.. Soda bicarb gargles also help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora.
