Suggest Treatment For Recurring Urinary Tract Infection
During a period of 4 years Ihave repeated urine infections. During a period of 30 years I have problems with my vagina and the area around it: it burns, and I have often rutures in my vagina and almost every time it tickels. Sometimes I have the candida albicans infection too. But whatever I use: it helps for 2 weeks and after that it starts again. Now for the first time they have discovert the klebsiella pneumoniae bacterie in my urine ( before it was Always the e coli ). I wonder if I did not have this bacterie in my vagin and urine for a long period. It wouls explain why I never cured of the infections and of the mycose. Is it possible? I am 59 years ols, 68 kilo, 1.71 m, and have a historie of many allergies including antibiotics. The only time I had no mycose and no urine infections was after a conisation of the cervix. For the first time in more than 3 years my urine was clear.

Hello dear, Thank you for your question.
The usual causes of infection include one or more of E.coli, K.pneumonia, P.mirabilis. Therefore, antibiotics prescribed for these types of infections usually cover many types of bacteria, including both E.coli and K.pneumoniae.
In my opinion the recurrent infections may need a consult with a urologist. Imaging studies like intravenous contrast computed tomography (contrast CT) may help reveal the source of these recurrent infections. Before these examination you need to inform your doctor about your allergies, since contrast substances tend to cause allergic reactions as well.
I hope this helped. Best wishes, Dr. Alma
