Suggest Treatment For Red Color And Discomforts In The Eyes After Wearing Contact Lenses

I think I wore my contacts for too long and scratched my eye. It happened yesterday, when I woke up, my eye was tearing alot, it was very red, I took the lense out, and it was hard to keep my eye open. Today is just red, I have a small sensation of having a bit of my eye ripped, but it's not uncomfortable. How soon should I see a doctor?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello,

A scratch on the cornea would heal within 24-48 hours with regular use of lubricating eye drops such as Refresh tears eye drops, 1 drop 4 times a day for about a week or two. Do not wear your contact lenses for a week and switch over to glasses in the meanwhile. If the symptoms persist even after a week of using lubricating drops then do consult your ophthalmologist for a closer look.
