Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Redness and discomfort in the eye following a bug in the eye could either mean that there is a tiny corneal abrasion or there is an allergic reaction to it or there is an infection in the eye. It would be difficult to identify based on symptoms alone. Please do visit an ophthalmologist for a closer look. This is not to scare you but there have been rare instances of maggots in the eye following such incidents. Better to be safe!
