Suggest Treatment For Red Itchy Bumps On The Collarbone Area And Right Arm
I have a bunch of red itchy bumps that popped up on my collarbone area and right arm this morning. They continued to spread with a handful on my left chest and arm and several dozen on the rest of my right arm from shoulder, to underarm, to forearm and hand. I also have a few on my hip and ankles. They seem to be in bunches, lines, or groups of three and the majority are on my right side. They are extremely itchy and keep randomly popping up in places I haven t scratched (which rules out poison ivy that I initially thought). Any ideas?
Hi. As per your case history you are probably having allergic dermatitis. My treatment advice is - 1. Avoid using any new products like soap or perfume as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on affected skin twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or higher antihistamines like hydroxyzine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
