Suggest Treatment For Red Marks On The Back Of The Throat And Breathing Difficulty

My son does not have a soar throat, but has allergies and a lot of mucus. He has some red marks, spots (nothing white) in the back of this throat above his epiglottis. He is also a little more labored in his breathing for the past couple of days which i think is due to his mucus and allergies. Thoughts

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your son can start betadine gargle. He can start tablet Levocetrizine also. It's antiallergic and can reduce the allergic component.Take steam inhalation through mouth. In the mean time u need to consult an Ent surgeon. He may do a fibre-optic laryngoscopy to see back of the throat upto the vocal cords. For cough with thigh mucus take some syrup Brozedex.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
