I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain red sore and flaky scalp is commonly due to a condition known as Seborrheic Dermatitis and it is commonly due to fungal infection of the scalp.. Other causes can be stress, very dry and cold weather, side effects of medication etc.. I would suggest you that in case if fungal infection is the cause you should continue applying antifungal ointment.. You should also wash your hairs with shampoo containing Ketoconazole, coal tar, salicylic acid, zinc, selenium etc.. You can also apply steroid lotion over the scalp.. Wash your hairs and scalp every alternate day.. Keep the scalp dry and clean and do not let moisture to accumulate..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
