i have a red spot on my lip where the lips meet when your mouth is closed, it almost looks like a pimple. Its been there for a little over a week and its not developing into anything bigger nor is it going away, it doesnt hurt or tingle. Any help would be appreciated.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain a small red spot on the lip that is present over the area where the lips meet can be due to formation of a mucous cyst known as a Mucocele and can occur due to ruptured duct of the minor salivary gland secondary to trauma like lip bite or other forms of traumatic injury.. I would suggest you to do concentrated salt water rinses and in case of no improvement in 2 weeks you can consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated.. In case if mucocele is confirmed as the diagnosis, and as it is a persisting case surgical removal can be advised under local anaesthesia.. As it is harmless condition therefore do not worry..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
