Suggest Treatment For Red Spots On My Lower Lips?

hello Dr. Samuel, my name is Abdulhakim and I am 16 years old. for the past three years my lower lip has started to get some red spots and I am an African American. I went to a doctor and they said it was because of the sun, but that was two years ago and I am pretty sure that s not the right reason. what is causing this? and is there a cure? Thank you

Hi,

Red spots can either be due to some allergy that can be either due to excessive sun exposure, any skin cosmetics, foods or medicines etc. >Another cause can be infection. So you should once consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and a clinical examination and blood test can be done for confirmation. For now you can apply Caladryl ointment over it. Do cool compresses over it. It there is itching then take anti histamines like Levocetirizine or Benadryl.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
