Suggest Treatment For Redness, Dryness And Itching On Tip Of Penis
All of a sudden the tip of my penis was red, dry and itchy. The itching has now stopped and it s not so red. It just seems to be dry, I have small cracks on my foreskin and when I pull it back it tends to hurt abit. I am worried as I don t know what to do and I don t feel comfortable going to the doctors.
Redness, dryness and itching on tip of the penis is commonly due to rough masturbation, un-lubricated sex, allergy to latex (condom), contact dermatitis, psoriasis, fungal infection, etc. You are suggested to avoid sex for a couple of days, get STD tests done if you have an active sex life with multiple partners. Take care of your hygiene and do not share toiletries.
Apply ointment hydrocortisone in the area affected. Keep the skin moisturized, you can take a course of oral anti-fungals, fluconazole. Use lubricants to reduce friction during partnered sex or masturbation. Avoid sex for a few days & wear cotton clothes. If STD tests show positive reports then you may need antibiotics and anti-virals.
