My almost 4 year old was taken into the ER (as advised by his peidatrician) on saturday because he has had red eyes and then started complaining of them hurting. The previous week he had diarrea and the Dr. said that he may have gotten a bacterial infection in his eyes and prescribed eye drops three times a day until the red clears up and 3 days after that. When should I expect for the redness to start going away and my sons eyes to stop huritng...He told me today they were hurting alot. If it is not what ER said it is what are other things I could look at it being and causing the red eye and pain??
