Suggest Treatment For Reduced Libido After Undergoing Hysterectomy
My wife got operated before 3-4 years and her utras and one ovary has been removed , after that her sex desire going down day by day, and now she is totally refuse for sex and she is get frustrated if I tried to attempt sex. Can you suggest me any treatment for her ?
Hi. After reading your query and having fully understood your problem, I am of the opinion that 1) You should first stop pressurising her for sex. A woman undergoes many changes after hysterectomy. Her hormonal levels drop down so much that she would start getting all menopausal symptoms. 2) You should visit a gynaecologist and ask for hormone replacement therapy. 3) You can use topical oestrogen if she has really dry vagina and refuses because of pain. 4) You can also visit a counsellor and find out the reason for her refusal for sex. Menopause is a very traumatic period for a woman and she needs support of her partner to sail through this. Please be understanding and caring. Hope I was able to help you in some way. Feel free to ask any query as regards to this answer. Regards, DR. SHIKHA SHAH
