Suggest Treatment For Reduced Sense Of Taste And Smell And Vision After Accident
I was in a car accident and suffered a concussion and injury to the 7th cranial nerve. I have noticed reduced sense of taste and smell as well as vision and hearing problems. I now wear glasses and have low frequency hearing loss which is worse in right ear. I also have developed bladder incontinence, can this too be associated with the condition? I also have Occipital Neuralgia from the same accident. Do you know of any article associated with these symptoms and the injuries I sustained?
Hi. Thanks for your query and an elucidate history. All the symptoms you developed are a part of the head injury which must have given a sudden accelerating or decelerating injury. The cranial nerves which supply the special senses of taste, smell and vision are short, large and go through foramina, the opening in the bony skull, and get injured in such accidents hence you have all altered one. As you know there is no definite full proof treatment but can continue on all the medicines as advise by a Neuro Doctors.
You may try acupressure and other forms of Naturo-pathy. They help in many cases.
