Suggest Treatment For Respiratory Tract Infection

I have had a cold for about almost 4 months now but waited to see a doctor in the second month during the cold because I thought it would go away. When I went to the doctor he prescribed zyrtec, mucinex and a 7 day perscripction formula starts with a A but I forgot the name...it didn t work, Thought I would see if the cold disappeared after but it it still lingering....In the morning I get a lot of yellow and white phlegm and in the night I get a mild hoarseness...What Can I do to get rid of this?

HI,

i can understand your concern from your question,

i see similar cases in my clinic and what is suggest them is regular steam inhalation three times daily, that will clear secretions in the nose, lungs and sinuses. along with that i would prescribe Alerid -D tablet in the night for 1-2 weeks and do a follow up after 2 weeks.
