my daughter is congenital heart patient. Her left eye has been operated for retinal detachment on 17th Nov.2009.Suddenly vision of her right eye has been lost on 18th Jan.2011.Kindly tell whether it is curable and what options are available for its early cure
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that your daughter is having retinal detachment. The definitive treatment for retinal detachment is by surgery. Since she is also having congenital heart disease, the surgery has to be done after pediatrician opinion under supervision of anesthetist. Delay in surgery will have poor prognosis. Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist at the earliest for examination and treatment.
