I am a 52 year old male that started wearing reading glasses about 4 years ago. I got my first pair of prescription bifocals at about age 50. My left eye had been giving me problems so I went for an exam. I was referred to an eye Dr. who diagnosed me with scarring on the retina in the back of my left eye. When looking at a grid I definitely do see distortion. However, my vision is 20/30 and I do welll with my reading glasses while on the computer and my bifocals other wise. I have no floaters or spots or no Mac Degen. I am otherwise very healthy but do take HBP med lisinopril 10 mg. I am concerned that I will need the evasive surgery. However, I have heard that it does nto always work. am I a candidate, and should I proceed?
