Suggest Treatment For Rise In Blood Urea Levels

Hello, I am Abdul from India, My mother is having body pain & slightly increased temp. at evening -daily.Urea level 98 mg/100ml , hypertensive & diabetic on treatment Rest other normal. Let me know the cause & treatment for increased blood urea. Thanks.

Hi Abdul,
Urea level of 98mg/100ml is due to several renal problems. Important cause for it could be uncontrolled diabetic related damage and hypertension.
Diabetes causes nephropathy, damaging the blood vessels and hypertension increases the damage.
Your mother must be suffering from severe renal insufficiency.
Treatment commonly used is renal dialysis. Other than that, to prevent further damage, she needs to control her blood sugar level and blood pressure level.
Damage can be reversed, only further damage can be prevented.
Looking at this problems, she might need to get her eyes tested for vision, Echo for heart and other peripheral neural problems.
