I have a friend with several serious health issues. One thing she is dealing with is Scleroderma. I know nothing more about this than what I have heard from her. She is currently down with painful knots on her legs. The doctor she saw wants her to get an MRI of her legs. Is this possibly Scleroderma? What can I do to help her. I actually have called her about three or four times since last night. I am getting no answer. Should I be worried?
Yes it is a worrying situation. First of all we have to establish the diagnosis of scleroderma which need clinical examination and some lab investigation. suppose it is scleroderma then it is an autoimmune disease which means she needs long treatment with some promising results if treated early. I have treated 4-5 patients who are doing well. don't worry. consult a good dermatologist who have sound clinical knowledge. good luck.
