Suggest Treatment For Sebum Cyst On The Pubic Area

I recently had a Seba Cyst right on my panty line and into my upper thigh, did the baths and compresses, it ruptured with my help. It has been draining for almost five days now but my question is.. On the third day a piece of white string like tissue came out, what was it? Also this is the 3rd one in a month and now another one is growing directly across from this last one. Is this common to to get so many at this speed?

Hello Patient,

I can understand your concern. Sebaceous cysts in the area you are experiencing are very common. Usually they do not require treatment but as it is occuring in the uncomfortable zone, you may need some management.

First of all, do not try to rupture it yourself as cysts has higher chances of recurrence if it is not removed with its entire lining. It is not possible for you to remove it with the entire lining as that requires surgical intervention.

I would advise you to visit your gynecologist and get it physically examined and if needed, get removed it removed surgically. The white string like thing you found could be the sebum, the content of the cyst. So do not worry about that.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
