Suggest Treatment For Septated Ovarian Cyst

I am 45 year old female, I have very regular periods. Last year I was diagnosed with a sepated ovarian cyst which was benign. The ovary was removed. I still had normal periods for a year. Right now I am 4-5 days late. Not pregnant. Should I get checked out or am I perimenapausal?

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. I would like to know when you had the last follow up after oopherectomy, the surgery to remove the ovary. If you had a normal pelvic sonogram performed within a month, you can wait for a few more days for your period. You are likely to be perimenopausal going by your age. Moreover, you are sure against pregnancy. A recurrence of the cyst is the other likely reason to be thought of. Please go for further evaluation by a specialist if you become overdue by ten days. Hope this helps.
