Suggest Treatment For Severe Constipation For Approximately 3 Months With No Abnormalities In A Colonoscopy And An Endoscopy

severe constipation. I have just had a colonoscopy. The doctors found nothing wrong. I then had an endoscopy with many many xray pictures. They found no obstruction. I have gone from one month to three months in the recent past without a bowel movement. After my colonoscopy on October 18,, my doctor tried a new medicine (Amitiza) which I tried for two weeiks 24mg twice a day but no bm. After the endoscopy on Tuesday 6, 2018, he gave me a two week sample of Trulance, 0ne pill once a day. It hasn t moved me yet. What else can we do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hell,

Your symptoms seem to be related to constipation. I suggest using a laxative such as Miralax. I also suggest to use a fiber-rich diet and drink a lot of liquid. If the symptoms continue I suggest using enemas.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
