Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough For Months

I am suffering with a severe cough for over 7 months. I am miserable because it s controling my life and very embrassing. There is thick muscus. I been to 5 doctors they all agree its Allergies but the medication prescribe do not help. Do you think I may be diganois and its more serious than allergies.

Please let me know your age,sex and occupation(history of allergen exposure).If you have any post nasal drip,throat irritation,heart burn,difficulty in breathing or blood in sputum.Chronic cough is usually due to allergy or chronic infections like tuberculosis.You can see a chest physician and ENT specialist.
