Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough In A 3 Years Old Child

Hi. My kid is 3 years old. Suffering with cough (Wet and Thick) for more than two weeks now. Cough is intermittent and once it start it stays for 5-10 times coughing. Also there is chocking of nose but Nose is NOT running. After 15 days now there are some symptoms of ferver and bodyache thats worrying me. Medication in consultation with Physician(for 10 days now):- Cetrizine 1 time at night and mucoilite (for cough). However No relief so far. Can anyone suggest way forward!!

Hi, your child probably has lower respiratory tract infection and that's why he is not getting relief. In my opinion, you should give antibiotic like amoxyclav 5 ml three times a day for 3 days along with the drugs you are taking. However, since this is a prescription medicine, i advice you to meet the local doctor to confirm the diagnosis. Take care.
