Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough
Please...... I've had a silly cold/cough for at least 4 weeks, with my glads having come up twice!, but the coughing is now driving me insane!!! I have been to docs and he listened to my chest, my chest is clear and apparently this is a virus? is there nothing I can take to cure this?

Hello,
If you had a cold and then followed by a cough then , that could be a allergic cough and which can be treated by a antihistaminic and monteleukast .
You also need to take an antibiotic to treat any bacterial infection developing .
Cough syrups can be given if dry cough then antihistaminic medicine like levocloperasitine will help.
But if there is a cough with sputum then antibiotic and syrups with expectorants are required like benadryl, allex, tossex etc .
In doubt do reply.
