Suggest Treatment For Severe Coughing

I have been to the doctor who says there is no problem in my chest...I have been coughing for a week, the phlem is not yellow or green, I live in a high humidity region, I am taking cough medicine, I dont smoke, but nothing is fixing it. I will be travelling overseas next Thursday oand would like to have it gone by then. Can you please offer any other solution. Thank you

It seems to be allergic cough so you can try tablet ketotifen 1mg twice a day but be cautious as it also cauaes mild sedation so in morning you can take half tablet if you have to move for work.
