Suggest Treatment For Severe Dryness Of Scalp

My scalp has been dry and irritated. My scalp has a pinkish color to it. It is getting so dry that it feels as though it crystallizes. My scalp has a tightening sensation. I have no flaking at all. The left side is worse than the right side. I have been to two different clinics: one prescribed clobestasol propiopnate foam 0.05% . I used it for 2 weeks as directed. It helped some of the redness to diminish but it did not help the itching or severe dryness. The other one prescribed Ketoconazole 2% shampoo but it isn t working. The tightness and dryness of my scalp is driving me crazy. Around the first of August I had my hair colored at the beauty shop and I noticed it really burned my scalp, but I did not say anything to my beautician at the time. I did have a lot of flaking about two week after that, but I bought some T-Gel shampoo and it cleared up. Then this severe dryness jumped on me. Help! Thank you! Debbie Reed

Your scalp dryness can be a result of reduced sebum production by your scalp. You need to apply hair oil regularly as it will increase the suppleness of your hair.Ketoconazole shampoo will not work in your case as it has a opposite effect and may increase dryness. You may also use a topical steroid cream for a short time to reduce the inflammation..Regards
