Suggest Treatment For Severe Ear Infection And Fever
My wife and I are trying to get pregnant. She is scheduled to ovulate this weekend. I have had a raging ear infection all week with a bad fever. My provider first put me on antibiotic ear drops but it just got worse so I want back in yesterday and he gave me an oral antibiotic Amox TR-K CLV which I m to take twice a day for 10 days and Naproxen 500mg for the pain twice a day. This new treatment is working and my ear infection is significantly better today. Will either of these meds and or the fact that I ve had an infection with fever all week affect my sperm count or cause sperm defects. My wife and I just got over a miscarriage so this month will be our first time trying again. I am concerned about impregnating her with damaged sperm from meds and fever and causing another miscarage.
It is common to have ear infection with an episode of flu. The Dr was right in giving you antibiotics for the same. These antibiotics are safe even for pregnant women. If you are feeling better you could stop the pain killer i.e naproxen U. Taking good steam inhalation twice a day along with some decongestants to your nose like otrivin will help you feel better sooner.
I hope I have adequately answered your question
