Hi. Last year I had a horrible experience flying. During decent I had the worse severe ear pain. The poor baby in front of me was screaming and I wanted to scream too! I hoped that when we landed the pain would go away, but it didn t. By day two I was at urgent care and was told that I had an ear infection and one tonsil was infected. This was never said, but I thought maybe all the swallowing I did on the plane trying to get the pressure to stop caused the tonsil infection. Anyway, the doctor told me that my ear looked like I had had chronic ear infections. I talked to my mom who said that was not the case. So, in 2 months I am traveling to Jamaica and I have been having stabbing pain in my ear (the same ear) that comes and goes and only lasts for seconds for about a week. I am freaking out that I am going to have the same thing happen to me when I travel to Jamaica. Is there anything I can do to prevent it? And what could be causing the stabbing feeling?
