Suggest Treatment For Severe Hand Pain While On Advil

3 weeks ago I fell backwards in my home and fell w/my hand in back of me to break my fall. Since then my hand hurts but not intenstly. I was to see my cardio. that day and he thought it was just a sprain and told me just to rest the hand. I ve taken Advil but not every 4 hours every day. It still is hurting after 3 weeks. Should it still be hurting? after all this time?

When severely injured, the pain could last more, especially, if not treated adequately.

However, in your case, you say to be using Advil and resting the hand but the pain is still there after 3 weeks.

At this point, your hand should be further evaluated through X-ray and physical examination by orthopedic specialist in order to see if any more serious problem is running. For the moment, I advise to continue taking Advil, can apply analgesic cream locally.
