Suggest Treatment For Severe Headache And Cough

Hi, I have been to 8 different doctors, Urgent care twice, primary care, pulmonologist, allergist, ENT, ER doctor, asthma doctor, nobody seem to know what I have. It started June 6 2014. Headaches, coughing, nasal drip, lots and lots of phlegm, ears clicking, and hoarseness. I moved from Colorado on May 25 2014 to Nevada. I have lived in Nevada when I was younger. I have been diagnose with Chronic Bronchitis, COPD, I don t know, non allergic rhinitis. Lots of different meds and none seem to work. I don t get a lot of sleep due to the coughing. Please help...thanks Staci

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to sleep apnea. A sinus infection or an allergic reaction could explain the nasal dripping and the cough.

For this reason, I recommend performing a sinus X ray study and a polysomnogram to check for sleep apnea.

In the meantime, taking cetirizine during the night would help improve your situation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
