Hello!
Welcome on HCM!
I read carefully your question and understand your concern.
Her symptoms seem to be related to cervical spondylarthrosis and tension type headache. But the fact that her headache is exacerbated by food intake is not typical of this disorder, and may be related to any
food intolerance, low blood pressure or
vascular headache.
I recommend consulting with a
neurologist for a careful physical examination for neurological signs and some tests:
-lab blood tests:
complete blood count, fasting glucose,
glucose tolerance test, kidney and liver function tests, blood electrolytes
-cervical column X ray study
-Doppler ultrasound of the cervical arteries to examine the blood flow to the brain.
I would recommend you to closely monitor her blood pressure (in sitting position) before and after eating.
A post prandial hypotension could explain headache starting after food intake.
Hope to have been helpful!
Feel free to ask any other questions whenever you need!
Greetings!
Dr. Aida
