Suggest Treatment For Severe Itchiness On The Anus And Pubic Area
i am a an 75 yr old widow. I have not had sex for several years. I have been experiencing an intense itchiness in my pubic area for the last 3-4 weeks. it seems to be getting worse, even affecting the area around my anus. It is certainly worse at night. My skin is very sensitive - i am allergic to many things - i.e. deodorants, lipstick and most make up. I do deal with some incontinence so wear poise pads most of the time. I am on warfarin for a a-fib condition and am very careful about taking supplements or vitamins. I have taken an antihistamine but wasn t sure it really helped so am not taking it presently.

hello, i can understand your concern,
as per your description it maybe tinea cruris (fungal infection) or scabies.
it can be more clear by watching it,
anyways in any case, you have to mentain hygine and keep it dry, use seperate cotton clothes and towels,
wash your clothes, beddings and towel and dry it in direct sunlight or iron it at high temperatures as high temperature can kill the itch mite.
for scabies a single application of permethrin once can be helpful
in fungal infections topical application of antifungals like 1% clotrimazole cream and powder can be helpful.
tor itching i would advice you to take some antihistaminics like levicetrizine 5 mg at nights.
