Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a pain in my left knee, and I have a hard time to describe it, the pain occurred mostly when I am lying down, the sensation feels like a nerve pain behind the knee and can travel to ankle and ham string. Was wondering also if the bone spur on my ankle could cause this problem?
Hello ! , My advice would be to get it evaluated , as the symptoms are not specific. An orthopaedic or physio evaluation will help to differentiate the pain from a muscle pull / strain , nerve entrapement , internal knee pain or inflammation of soft structures around the knee joint e.g. bursa etc . Knee pain could be very disturbing , but there are excellent conservative treatment options available for all sorts of knee pain . Establishing the aim for treatment ( diagnosis ) is first essential. Please don't bear the pain without having it evaluated!! Tc.
