There are several classes of drugs which can be used for migraine prevention as beta-blockers (propranolol), antidepressants(amitriptyline), calcium channel blockers (flunarizine).
Further, triptans and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines may be used for terminating acute episodes.
You can discuss with your treating physician for the medicines which suits you the best.
Lastly, it is of vital importance to identify the trigger factors which precipitate your migraine episodes and try to avoid them. Addressing the migraine trigger factors may prove to be of great help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
