Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Numbness In The Arm
Hi, my name is maria, I am 42 years old. I weigh 43 pounds, I live a healthy lifestyle and exercise at least 5 days a week. Last night, I woke up in the middle of the night due to a discomfort I had in my right arm. Half of my arm was completely numb, I could not move it and had to hold it with my left hand. This is the second time this happens to me, except last time the numb came all the way from my shoulder. The first incident was a year ago. I can still feel my arm somehow uncomfortable and I am scared it will happen again.
Severe pain and numbness in the arm may be related to cervical spine. Your condition need proper clinical examination and investigations. You may need X-ray of cervical spine (AP/Lateral view). X-ray is basic investigation after clinical evaluation. You may also need MRI of cervical spine.Pain may be related to nerve roots compression, disc prolapse etc.Only MRI can evaluate in detail. Physiotherapy or surgery requirement depend upon findings.
