Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Right Foot

My husband is having severe pain in his right foot, toes and heel. His foot is swelling. He just had back surgery and is on medications for pain, muscle relaxer, and a nerve deadener (Robaxin). His foot was hurting like this before his surgery, and they didn t know if it was from the stenois in his back or something else. The other pains he was having before have pretty much gone away, but this pain in his foot lingers on. Do you have any idea what else it could be, or is it related to the nerve damage from his back?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
DDear patient
It seems foot pain is unrelated to back surgery and may be due to local trauma which is not attended. You need to be investigated with Xray of foot anteroposterior and oblique views to rule out fracture. If it's normal apply cold compress and crepe bandage to foot. Keep it elevated on two pillow. Take tab chymoral forte thrice a day on empty stomach for 5 days. If Xray shows fracture need to consult expert orthopaedic surgeon nearby you.
