I had 102 fever 2 nights ago but not much cough. I took ibuprofen and it broke and hasn t returned yet. The cough has gotten painful and frequent. When I cough, my right hand feels like it does when you hit your funny bone really hard. I have been noticing these weird sensations for about a week but definitely is suddenly worse when I cough really hard. Could I have Pulmonary embolism or is it something I should get checked out for?

Suggest Treatment For Severe Painful Cough
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Due to vigorous coughing, there may be shock like sensation in few patients and it s seen in cervical spondylosis or multiple sclerosis. You may be suffering from acute bronchitis or pneumonia or bronchopneumonia. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Avoid spicy food and alcohol, avoid cool drinks and frozen water. Use tablet Amoxyclav. Use syrup Ascoril. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor. He will examine and treat you accordingly. Take care.
