Suggest Treatment For Severe Postnasal Drip

Hi Doctor, Right now my sinus' are draining and im starting to get a head-ache, so my thoat is sore and all that good stuff. i read about the unconsiousness of swallowing and such but I dont think that is in regard to me. I am creating alot of saliva which in turn is keeping me up all night since im having to continually swallow. It's to the point where im ready to hug the toilet and just drool myself to sleep there, any tips to help slow down my saliva creation?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from Upper Respiratory Track Infection commonly known as Common Cold and it is leading to sinus infection causing Sinusitis and post nasal drip is also due to both these conditions..
Excessive salivation is due to irritation and inflammation in throat and it leads to stimulation of Salivary Glands leading to increased salivation as well as due to sore throat there is reduced swallowing also due to discomfort leading to feeling of increased salivation..
Nothing to worry, you can take a course of antibiotics like Levofloxacin, anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen, take decongestant like Pseudoephadrine and do warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room..
You can also do saline nasal irrigation and use decongestant nasal spray..
Drink plenty of warm fluids and do warm compresses over chest..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
