19 years on cpap with setting of 12 or higher. since early this year have productive cough shortly after arising. up to 20 productive coughs and the problem is mostly taken care of. after things die down I may have one productive cough every 4 or so hours. 6 day hospitalization with pneumonia. primary md tried several treatments with antibodies to no avail. right now am just coping. ps I am a 75 year old female who loves her cpap.
You should get culture of your sputum done and take a course of antibiotic according to the culture report only.. Secondly, good chest physiotherapy with postural drainage will help you a lot, for which you will need to visit a physiotherapist.. Few visits to physiotherapist and then you can continue with the same yourself at home..
