Suggest Treatment For Severe Rectal Bleeding

I'm having bleeding from the rectum when I have bowel movements. . The bleeding is a burgundy color with some blood clots. I have hemmorhoids, but I've also had colon cancer. At first I thought it was only my hemorrhoids acting up, but now when I use have a bowl movement they don't hurt like before. I just have a little irritation, but the toilet is still full of blood. Should I to to the ER? This has been going on for over a week now.

Dear- thanks for using our service, it is very important to take care of this situation as soon as possible. Bright red blood in the stools it is most likely active hemorrhoid bleeding but in the presence of history of colon cancer, it is important to have a colonoscopy to check if this is not a recurrence of the colon cancer. You should go to the ER because you are actively bleeding and need to find the area of bleeding to avoid complications.Your hemoglobin might be low and you might need a transfusion.I hope that my advise will be helpful.
