Suggest Treatment For Severe Scalp Allergy And Hairloss

Hi. I m a 62 year old woman who has been having severe scalp allergy for almost a year now. I have consulted a dermatologist who has prescribed shmpoo AFK and some ointments. this has helped to some extent. but I have heavy hairloss. Please advise. do I have seborrhic dermatitis/

hi. I have read your question and understand your concern.

scalp itching is because of seborrheic dermatitis itself, so yes you have seborrheic dermatitis.it's a chronic itchy condition of scalp. along with itching you can also see flaking and redness in a lot of patients.

you need to use ketoconzole based shampoo on a regular basis, at least twice weekly. keep the shampoo for at least 3-4 minutes before washing it off. your afk shampoo will also help, just apply in the manner mentioned.

if this doesn't help then you can add a ciclopirox containing leave on lotion and then wash it off in the morning.
