I went to the eye doctor today for my yearly routine eye exam. The doc found edema (moderate-severe) around my cornea in my right eye, and moderate edema in my left. I was prescribed Tobra-Dex to use 4x a day. I started the drops at about 4 pm. By 5 pm I developed a severe sore throat. It is soothed with cold or heat, but I am wondering if the drops are dripping down my sinuses and causing the pain.
Hi. Thanks for your query and an elucidate history. Read and understood that you are having sore throat that developed after putting in the Tobra dex eye drops. If the eye drops could have caused the reaction in the throat causing severe sore throat, it certainly would have caused the pains in the eye too. Hence this looks unlikely t o be the cause. Get and examination done by your Family Physician and get a reference to the ENT Surgeon for clinical evaluation and further management ./
