Suggest Treatment For Severe Stomach Pain In A Child

Hello, My name is Sarah, and my 12 year old daughter seems to have contracted something I have never seen before.. She is screaming because it feels as though her stomach is being turned inside out but she cant exactly describe it. Also she is VERY light headed .. but she has no fever? I ve never seen anything like it in my 16 years of being a mother.. and as you can imagine I ve seen alot. It s not your average Flu. Please help me, I m terrified for her!

Hi,

But we need few more details to sort out this. When did the pain start? Was there any loose stools, constipation, dysuria or frequent micturition? Any vomiting? Any recent change in diet?

Significant abdominal pain without fever might occur from acute gastritis, severe constipation or ureteric colic. Above mentioned details will help us to decide the probable cause. Kindly get back with details. meanwhile, give her ibuprofen for pain relief. Give after food with one glass of water.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
