Suggest Treatment For Severe Tremors Despite Taking Primidone
I have essential temors and they are getting worse I m on metropolo 25 mg. but causes my heart to slow down and also Gabapentin 300mg 3 times a day. I can t take primitdone . what else can I take that won t effect the heart and not make me dizzy, sick to my stomach. I can no longer eat with silverware.
Metoprolol is a beta blocker and typically not very robust as a 1st line medication for Essential Tremors (ET) though it is written to be so. Gabapentin is poor at best at controlling ET and causes more side effects than gains. You may be able to bring the tremors under very good control on less dose than what you're taking with the Metoprolol and get rid of the Gabapentin entirely. There are also other things that can be done of a Non-pharmacological but you should probably see a movement disorders specialist, if you're getting these ideas from your PMD or family practitioner.
