Suggest Treatment For Severe Upper Arm Pain In An Elderly Person

I am having upper arm pain. It is more painful at night when I lay down then during the day. I use a treadmill about 4 times a week for exercise. I am 67 years old. This started about 5 months ago. I can go about my daily work with some pain but it gets more painful when I lay down at night.

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I do understand your pain and discomfort. I have seen many cases with similar complaints. As per your history, please find my advice below:

1)Do a Blood DC to check Eosinophilia % if greater than 7% take DEC for 20 days
2)If not then other pathology will be considered.

I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me.

Regards,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
