Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain in my upper outer thigh area. I have hit it on my bed post with a sharp corner and it stayed bruised for a few months. No pain, but then I hit it on my desk at work in the same spot and since then have been having sharp stabbing pains in that spot off and on. But when it does, it hurts really bad. Could an injury cause a blood clot?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. since you have injured your thigh , since the bone underlying happens to be femur its very strong and very unlikely that you have sustained any fracture or ligament tear . It is most likely a muscle injury and hematoma that is leading to the problem I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
