I have been having vertigo severly. Two weeks it has been an issue. I had the positional vertigo to start with then a new symptom of closing my eyes/being in the dark makes me extremely dizzy. I had went a week with no food because of vomiting and diarrhea. I have been to 4 doctors including the ER who said I have an inner ear infection causing this. I am losing sleep and having extreme anxiety over this. I am on Valium because of it. I just want to know what to do and please tell me I will get over this.
Hi, thanks for your query....first of all don't worry....Were you having any fever , if yes the it can be a case of labyrinthitis/vestibular neuronitis.....See, there are many reasons for vertigo and if it is because of inner ear then it shall resolve within 3 weeks.......but in any case you should see an ent doctor and a proper diagnosis is to be made.....you can try some vestibular sedatives and if its BPPV then epley's maneouvre can help you. I hope this anwer relaxes you from your anxiety.
