Suggest Treatment For Severe Vomiting And Stomach Pain
My daughter was fine until about 15 minutes ago. She then complained about her stomach hurting right at her belly button and now is lying on the floor of the bathroom holding her stomach. She has vomited twice. she has no fever and is 12 years old. What maybe could this be? I m thinking just a stomach bug but just want to ask
In your daughter's case, stomach pain with vomiting could be because of dietary like food poisonings or infection like gastroenteritis but needs to be evaluated further by various investigations.
She should go for routine blood count,ESR,urinalysis with ultrasound abdomen with to rule out other gastric pathology.
She should be given, 1) antibiotics (like ofloxacin with ornidazole) 2) h2 blockers like ranitidine or proton pump inhibitors (like pantoprazole, rabeprazole etc ) with cytoprotective drugs like sucralfate, misoprostol etc. 3) antiemetic like ondasteron or domperidome. With other water and electrolyte replacement.
If underlying cause is H pylori then she will require triple drug regimen means two antibiotics and PPI.
